Life goes on

Well, doesn't time fly. It doesn't seem that long ago I last wrote but here we are almost two months later and not much has changed.

Managed to have a weeks holiday with the family with four fantastic days of sunshine. Two afternoons at the beach and two days out and about. This was followed with one very wet day so we went to the swimming pool, the following day was overcast and foggy so not too bad.

Just as I was leaving I spoke to my friend to find that there were more worries pouring onto their shoulders. Almost wished my holiday was cancelled just to be there for them. Am I too big-hearted worrying about them and their troubles more than my own? Or is there some other motive? They were on my mind during the time away so called them once but only able to leave a voice mail, which I hate doing, then wasn't sure if I should have.

After foggy day out to the coast, I know, where was the sense in that but we did have a lovely fish and chips lunch. Scrummy. Got back and found a reply text messge from my friend who wasn't having a good week so I called them straight back. It was so good to hear their voice and find that they were bearing up fairly well with all that had happened. I couldn't wait to get back to see them.

Horrendous journey back with so many slows downs and stops with the traffic. Got home by 10pm after briefly stopping at the local services for a special treat, MacDonalds ;) This saved having to prepare something when we finally arrived home and the children (including myself) enjoyed it.
